[P.S.S.T.: Choose Life, not death!  They are mutually exclusive. (6th s.)]
CedarS Camps PSSTs (Possible Sunday School Topics)

for the Christian Science Bible Lesson:  LIFE

January 12-18, 2015

P.S.S.T.  Golden Text (GT) – Ask students to describe any fountains they have seen.  What are the properties or characteristics of a fountain?  Where does the water in it originate?  If the fountain is not the source, what is the purpose of the fountain?  What about the fountain of life – what is its source?  Life, God.  So the fountain of Life displays the waters of Life, God.  How this fountain sparkles with individual drops – rising and falling continuously.  Can the fountain of Life ever run out of water?  Can the fountain of Life ever cease?

P.S.S.T.  Responsive Reading – What has God commanded for you?  Life evermore.

What qualities does your fountain hold for you?  Wisdom, counsel, understanding, strength, love, righteousness, blessings, life

Think how those qualities are ever on display in your life – a dancing fountain whose foundation is of God.

P.S.S.T.  Section 1 – What did God call forth from the waters that God created? (B4)
What did God behold about man whom he made?  That he is very good.

What does God know about the life he made? It is very good.

That is your life and the life of every idea God has made.  What synonyms of God are found in the Science & Health portion of this Lesson?  Life, Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Truth.

P.S.S.T.  Section 2 – How did God show love for that which he created?  He sent Jesus Christ as the way-shower.  That is, Christ is the way and Jesus is the shower to mankind of the way.  What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?  What did Jesus demonstrate about life?  It is permanent and has no end.  Read the story in citation B9 as evidence.  What does S&H tell us about life in this Section?  Life is without beginning or end.  Life is everlasting.  We live before and after so-called death.

P.S.S.T.  Section 3 – What was Jesus’ response to the individual who desired to have eternal life? (B13)  Why do you think Jesus Christ was sent?  Why were you sent?  Yes, you.  You do have a special purpose.  See citation S17 for a hint.  Does time have anything to do with eternity?  It is never too soon to begin to demonstrate that time, a mortal measurement, and the fact that the earth revolves around the sun once a year, have nothing to do with eternal God and God’s eternal reflection, man.  Look up the spiritual definition of Time on page 595 in S&H.

P.S.S.T.  Section 4 – It is important to know that you are not condemned by material suggestions because you choose to practice and demonstrate the spiritual reality of all things. See citation B15.

See the definition of Kingdom of Heaven on page 590 in S&H.  Where is this Kingdom of Heaven? (B16)  What can you do because you live now in this Kingdom? (B16)

Read the Bible story in citation B17.  How did Paul prove and demonstrate that life is eternally in the Kingdom of Heaven?  If death is a dream, and it is, you can be assured it has no hold on you. (S19 and S20)  You are not condemned because you know and declare eternal life.  See again citation B15.

P.S.S.T.  Section 5 –

In whom do you live? (B18)

In whom do you move? (B18)

In whom do you have your being? (B18)

Can you ever go away from Spirit, Life? (B19)  This is an excellent memory opportunity.  Psalm 139:7-10.  Because God is Life and you are the reflection of Life, where do you live, in a physical form?  If not, then where? (S25 and S27)

P.S.S.T.  Section 6 – Memorize verses 17 and 24 in citation B23, Psalm 118.
Based on what you have learned in this Lesson, what is the fountain of Life sending forth in your life? See citation S28.  Either Life is or death has dominion – which is it?  They are mutually exclusive.  One cannot exist where the other exists.  Choose ye!

Read aloud together Hymn 120 from the Christian Science Hymnal:

“How beauteous on the mountains The feet of him that brings, Like streams from living fountains, Good tidings of good things; That publishes salvation; From error gives release To every tribe and nation: God’s reign of joy and peace.

“Break forth in hymns of gladness, O waste Jerusalem; Let songs instead of sadness, Thy jubilee proclaim; The Lord, in strength victorious, Upon thy foes has trod; Behold, O earth, the glorious Salvation of our God.”
